If you suspect that illegal netting is taking place it is important that you contact the Environment Agency (EA) on the Emergency Freefone Hotline number 0800 807060.  Remember the EA would much rather have a report that proves unfounded than to have illegal activity unreported.  There is no requirement for you to provide contact details unless you wish to be informed of the outcome of your report, under no circumstances will the EA disclose your details if your report leads to eventual prosecution.  Your call alone may not provoke an immediate response but it will help to build up a clear picture of any illegal netting activities in the area which can then allow officers to organise operations to apprehend the netsmen.
